A 3.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred today in the Tuşba district of Van caused brief concern in the region.
According to the statement made by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Tuşba district of Van was shaken by a 3.8 magnitude earthquake at 16:26. It was reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 10.44 kilometers.
While the tremor was felt in the center of Van and surrounding neighborhoods, no loss of life or property was reported according to initial assessments. Citizens experienced brief panic during the earthquake but continued with their daily lives afterward.
Authorities stated that aftershocks could occur in the region and that citizens should remain cautious. AFAD teams are continuing their field inspections to check for any negative developments following the earthquake.
