A written statement was issued following the MGK meeting. Here is the statement;
"The National Security Council met on July 25, 2024, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
At the meeting;
1. Information was presented to the council regarding operations carried out with perseverance, determination, and success both domestically and abroad against all kinds of threats and dangers to our national unity, solidarity, and survival, primarily the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and DAESH terrorist organizations, as well as recent international developments.
2. The stage reached in the fight against FETÖ, the perpetrator of the July 15 betrayal, and the steps to be taken in the coming period were evaluated; unwavering determination was emphasized to completely dismantle the terrorist organization, which attempts all kinds of heinous acts under the guidance of circles hostile to Türkiye and tries to exonerate itself under the guise of victimhood.
3. It was pointed out that our increasing efforts in the fight against terrorism, through the sincere cooperation of regional countries, will provide a solid foundation for the resolution of common security issues and contribute permanently to the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and prosperity of our neighbors, Iraq and Syria.
4. It was emphasized that support for reaching a true social consensus encompassing all parties in Syria will continue during the process of resolving issues, and that provocations targeting the ancient friendship between the two peoples and attempts at discord will not be permitted; it was underlined that clearing Syrian territory of separatist terrorism will primarily secure the interests and survival of Syria.
5. It was stated that the Israeli administration, which has clearly declared that it has no connection to any rule of law or humanitarian value through the massacres it has carried out despite the increasing reaction of the international community, must be stopped without delay; it was reiterated that otherwise, a spiral of violence could be triggered that would first spread to adjacent areas and subsequently to the entire region.
6. It was noted that the environment of peace, tranquility, and security that has prevailed across the entire island for half a century, thanks to the Cyprus Peace Operation carried out by Türkiye within the framework of international treaties and in its capacity as a guarantor country, confirms the legitimacy and success of the operation beyond dispute before history.
It was emphasized that our determined stance will be maintained regarding the conclusion of the Cyprus issue, which is our national cause, based on a two-state solution founded on the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people, and the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an equal member of the international community.
7. It was stated that our constructive approach, which prioritizes dialogue in issues in the Aegean and the Mediterranean, will not be allowed to be exploited; it was expressed that uncompromising practices regarding the defense of our rights, interests, and relations will be continued.
8. Developments regarding the war in Ukraine and recent diplomatic efforts were discussed; it was stated that there is a need to increase sincere multilateral efforts toward establishing a just and lasting peace before the war escalates further and spreads to the region.
9. Relations developed with a long-term approach between Türkiye and African countries, primarily Somalia, Libya, Sudan, and Niger, were evaluated; it was noted that Türkiye will continue to contribute to the peace and prosperity of the brotherly African peoples by fulfilling the requirements of its responsibilities regarding the establishment of trust and stability.
