AKOM announces: Istanbul to start the new week with rain
According to meteorological data, rainy weather and cool temperatures will continue to be effective in Istanbul during the first days of spring. Precipitation may intensify across the city over the weekend and mid-week.
With the end of the winter season, Istanbul is preparing for continuous rain in the new week. While it is reported that air temperatures will fluctuate between 12 and 16 degrees, a period where rain will be more effective than the sun has begun.
It was noted that the rainfall, which will continue throughout the week, will cover all of Istanbul, and precipitation amounts will increase on Sunday and Wednesday. While a forecast of 5 to 12 kilograms of rainfall is made specifically for Sunday, March 29, it was stated that the amount of precipitation could be between 5 and 15 kilograms on Wednesday, April 1. These two days stand out as the rainiest days in the city.
Authorities emphasized that citizens should be cautious against adverse weather conditions, and urged them to be careful so that sudden rainfall does not cause disruptions in city traffic and daily life. It was advised that risks such as floods and water inundation should also be taken into account if heavy rainfall continues.
