Savcı Sayan slammed Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek on social media. Sharing a message he received from a tradesman, Sayan directed criticisms and questions at Şimşek regarding the fund scandal.
"WHY WAS IT NOT AUDITED WITH THE SAME DILIGENCE"
"Mr. Şimşek! Why didn't your tax inspectors, who stand guard for hours at the cash registers of tradesmen, audit the multi-billion lira money movements of the funds with the same diligence?" asked Savcı Sayan, continuing his criticism of Şimşek as follows:
"If you had audited the accounts of the funds once a month as thoroughly as you scrutinize the daily revenue of tradesmen, would we be talking about the grievances of so many people today?
Why didn't the audit approach, which acts like a hawk when it comes to the cash registers of small tradesmen, show the same sensitivity where large sums of money are involved?"
"WHO WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE BILLIONS"
In his post, AKP member Sayan also said, "My dear Minister, what the nation expects from you is not an explanation, but accountability!" and asked Şimşek, "While you are holding tradesmen accountable for every penny in their cash registers, who will hold them accountable for the billions?"
