Allegation of 16.8 million TL in public loss: 17 municipal personnel working at Özkan Yalım's businesses detained
In an investigation conducted in Uşak, an operation was carried out on the grounds that 17 people, who appeared to be working for municipal companies, were actually employed at businesses belonging to former Mayor Özkan Yalım. It was stated that the public loss in the file exceeded 16.8 million liras, and numerous digital materials and documents were seized.
The Uşak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office conducted an operation targeting 17 suspects who were allegedly kept on the payroll of municipal companies while continuing to work at businesses belonging to former Mayor Özkan Yalım.
It was reported that the investigation determined the public loss had reached 16 million 866 thousand 240 liras. It was alleged that the suspects received salaries from the municipality while also appearing on the payrolls of private businesses owned by Yalım.
Investigations revealed that some suspects conducted transactions on behalf of the private company and that their mobile phones emitted numerous base station signals from the areas where the businesses in question are located during working hours.
It was noted that 52 digital materials and 36 physical documents were seized during searches conducted at hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues owned by Özkan Yalım. It was learned that the investigation is ongoing.
