Autistic girl beaten in Aksaray after being told 'we don't want you in the neighborhood': She is receiving treatment in intensive care
Emine Özcan stated that her autistic daughter, Elmas Yağmur, was beaten by their neighbors and is currently receiving treatment in intensive care.
Emine Özcan, who lives in Aksaray, alleged that her autistic daughter, Elmas Yağmur, was beaten by neighbors who said they were uncomfortable with her walking around the neighborhood. Özcan stated that she called the police to file a complaint following the incident.
Stating that insults were directed at her daughter, mother Özcan said, "They called my child 'disabled, crazy, insane, sick' and said they didn't want her in this neighborhood. I told them my child doesn't harm anyone. After she was beaten, I called the police and filed a complaint."
Özcan also alleged that she was threatened by the people she filed a complaint against to withdraw her statement. The mother said, "I told them that no matter what happens, I will not withdraw it. I will always stand by my child."
Claiming that she and her daughter were beaten again in the courtyard of their home the day after the incident, Özcan reported that her daughter is receiving treatment in intensive care due to the blows she received.
Mother Özcan stated that serious injuries were detected in Elmas Yağmur's eyes, head, and neck, adding, "I only trust in justice. I don't want them to go unpunished."
