Breaking News: 'Ghost vehicle' operation at Bolu Municipality! Detention warrants issued for 22 people

In an investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into Bolu Municipality, it was alleged that some garbage collection vehicles were shown as operational on days they were not working, and that the contractor firm was overpaid through this method.

According to findings made within the scope of the investigation, it was claimed that an excessive and unjustified payment of 34 million 288 thousand 376 TL was made to the contractor firm.

Proceedings have been initiated against 23 suspects in the file, including Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan, municipal administrators, municipal personnel, and company officials.

It was reported that detention warrants were issued for 22 people, excluding Tanju Özcan, who is currently in custody. Simultaneous operations were launched in 7 provinces, with Bolu as the center, as part of the investigation.

It was reported that Gendarmerie teams are conducting a search at the Bolu Municipality building. It is understood that proceedings regarding the investigation are ongoing.
