Breaking News: MIT conducts 'illegal query' operation against software company!
In an operation targeting the Ankara-based company AYDO, which provides software services to labor unions, 5 people, including the company owner and employees, were detained.
As part of intelligence operations conducted by the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), it was determined that certain union software developed by the Ankara-based Aydo Yazılım contained a special query interface that allowed access to the personal information of individuals who were not union members.
Technical examinations revealed that data sets leaked from various sources in previous years could be queried through the system in question.
ACCESS TO PERSONAL DATA VIA ID NUMBER
It was discovered that identity and civil registry information of individuals could be accessed through queries made using their Turkish Republic ID numbers. It was also determined that the databases on the servers contained more comprehensive personal data in addition to identity information.

It was learned that the query interface was used to complete membership information during the registration of new members to unions. During the investigations, it was also determined that the system's databases contained records belonging to individuals under the age of 18.
"NVİ" MARKER IN SYSTEM RECORDS
Examinations conducted on the servers determined that the term "NVİ" was used regularly in the system records where personal data was kept.
While it was assessed that this marker was intended to create the impression that the data originated from the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs (NVİ), technical examinations determined that the information in question was not obtained directly from NVİ systems.
COMPANY'S KVKK CONSULTANCY ALSO UNDER INVESTIGATION
Within the scope of the investigation, it was also determined that Aydo Yazılım provided consultancy services to institutions and organizations under the name "Clock&Wise" regarding the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).
5 PEOPLE DETAINED
In the operation carried out in Ankara, 5 people, including the company owner and its employees, were detained. Numerous computers, mobile phones, and digital materials were seized during searches conducted at the suspects' homes and workplaces.
It was reported that the investigation into which unions used the system, to what extent, and for what purposes the obtained personal data was processed is ongoing.
It was noted that the scope of the investigation could be expanded in line with new findings to be obtained from the digital materials.
