An individual identified as having filmed a video while dancing on Istanbul's Istiklal Avenue while wearing clothing featuring a police emblem has been detained following the circulation of the footage on social media.
Police teams launched an investigation following the images shared on social media. The examination revealed that the person in the footage was wearing a garment with a police emblem on the chest and was carrying plastic handcuffs, a plastic toy gun, and a plastic baton.
The person in the footage was identified as F.N.U. (21). It was reported that the apprehended F.N.U. will be referred to the courthouse on charges of "insulting the Turkish Nation, the State of the Republic of Turkey, and the institutions and organs of the state" and "unauthorized use of special signs and uniforms."
