Breaking News: Operation against CHP-run Mersin Metropolitan Municipality for 'rigging tenders'
Police have launched an operation against the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality as part of an investigation into allegations of tender rigging and bribery. Searches are being conducted at the municipal building, and detention warrants have been issued for a number of individuals.
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has been targeted by a police operation following allegations of tender rigging and bribery.
According to information obtained, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted an investigation into claims of irregularities in certain tender processes and the acceptance of bribes within the municipality.
It was learned that the teams are conducting searches at the municipal building as part of the investigation. It was reported that detention warrants have been issued for a large number of suspects within the scope of the operation.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Chief of Staff Doğukan Uyan has been taken into custody.
