CHP's Öztürk: AKP has admitted the inadequacy of YÖK and ÖSYM
CHP Bursa Deputy Hasan Öztürk criticized the Teaching Profession Law Proposal, stating that the law will cause grievances for teacher candidates.
In a press conference held at the Parliament, Öztürk stated that Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin did not attend the discussions in either the commission or the General Assembly.
Öztürk said, "With this law, they are creating a massive group of young people who will not be able to realize their dreams of being appointed, as the education received by our teachers who studied for 4 years and put in the effort will have no meaning, their dreams will not be realized, and by adding another 2 years before they can start their teaching careers, new graduates will be added to the 572 thousand unappointed teachers, reaching millions.
With this law proposal, the AKP has actually admitted the inadequacy of both YÖK and ÖSYM." he assessed.
Arguing that the actions taken by teachers' unions to protest the law proposal were attempted to be blocked, Öztürk said, "There were those among our teachers who fainted, were injured, and were taken into custody.
They have become so reckless that they don't even pretend to listen anymore." he said.
