CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has provided a documented response to claims that the EU provided funding for metro projects in Istanbul.
Yavuzyılmaz stated, "The AK Party's slander has collapsed! It had been alleged that the final 60 million Euro portion of the loan used by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Ümraniye-Ataşehir-Göztepe Metro Project had been evaporated.
We have documented that there is 2 billion 882 million 212 thousand Lira in the relevant IMM account corresponding to the 60 million Euro loan in question.
