The Turkish Touring and Automobile Association has issued a statement following the dismissal of veteran Cemil Eroğlu, the father of Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu who was dismissed from the TSK, from his job at the institution.
In a statement published on its social media account, the Turkish Touring and Automobile Association noted that the institution has been undergoing restructuring in recent years in line with global and regional political and economic developments, and that it has been forced to part ways with many employees during this process.
The institution reported that the employment contracts of 4 personnel, including Cemil Eroğlu, were terminated in October. The statement included the following: "The employment contracts of 4 of our personnel, including Cemil Eroğlu, who worked at our institution for 37 years and retired, have been terminated with all their legal rights paid."
The following statements were included in the announcement published via social media:
“The Turkish Touring and Automobile Association is an association working for the public benefit, established on November 6, 1923, upon the instructions of Atatürk. International travel documents have been provided by our institution since 1957 in its capacity as the FIA Turkey representative.
In line with global and regional political and economic developments, our institution has been forced to part ways with many employees in recent years as part of its restructuring. Within the month of October, the employment contracts of 4 of our personnel, including Cemil Eroğlu, who worked at our institution for 37 years and retired, were terminated with all their legal rights paid.
In the news reflected to the public, the conscience of society is being exploited, and Cemil Eroğlu's title, age, and even his image are being distorted and served. Neither two years ago nor today has any of our personnel been evaluated based on kinship ties at our institution.
We respectfully inform the public that we will exercise all our legal rights against such baseless publications that aim to mislead the public with unreal news and damage the reputation of our institution.”
