Galatasaray Second President Metin Öztürk has announced his resignation from his duties at the club. Öztürk shared his decision in a post on his social media account.
In his statement, Öztürk pointed to events that he stated took place during the board meeting on October 27. Expressing that the process in question was unacceptable to him, Öztürk announced that he has resigned from his positions on the Galatasaray Board of Directors and the boards of its affiliated companies.
"Neither my Galatasaray upbringing nor the upbringing I received from my mother and father allows me to accept the act that took place at our Board of Directors meeting on October 27, which turned into a physical assault and an insult to my late mother. As of today, I am resigning from my memberships on the Galatasaray Board of Directors and the boards of its affiliated companies."
