Details have begun to emerge regarding the tragic accident on the Northern Marmara Motorway in the Sakarya section that resulted in the deaths of 10 people. It has been revealed that the Esenyurt Municipality bus involved in the accident was returning from a funeral in Giresun. Two people on the bus lost their lives in the accident.
10 people lost their lives and 59 were injured in an accident that occurred at the first light of dawn on the Sakarya Northern Marmara Motorway.
It was learned that the passenger bus belonging to the Esenyurt Municipality involved in the accident was returning from the village of Yeşildere in the Görele district of Giresun, where it had traveled for a funeral. After the burial, the bus, which was on its way back to Istanbul, began waiting in the right lane on the Sakarya Northern Marmara Motorway after seeing an accident ahead due to heavy fog.
According to allegations, another passenger bus coming from behind at that moment struck and dragged the bus carrying the citizens who had attended the funeral. Two people on the bus carrying the citizens returning from the funeral lost their lives in the accident.
