Elderly man with Alzheimer's found dead
An elderly man with Alzheimer's, who had been missing for 37 days in Adıyaman, has been found dead in a creek bed.
According to the information obtained, a search operation had been launched by both his relatives and security forces to find 73-year-old Halit Bozkurt, a father of 5, who left his home on Fırat Street in the İmamağa Neighborhood of central Adıyaman approximately 37 days ago and had not been heard from since.
The lifeless body of Halit Bozkurt, who was being searched for everywhere by gendarmerie and police teams, was discovered by women who were looking to collect grass in a creek bed located near the Bahçelievler Neighborhood of Adıyaman's Kömür town. The women who encountered the body reported the situation to the gendarmerie teams.
The Kömür Gendarmerie Station Command teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, took security measures and conducted investigations. Following the examinations by the gendarmerie teams, Halit Bozkurt's body was taken to the Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital Morgue. The exact cause of Halit Bozkurt's death will be determined after the examinations to be conducted.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
