Electricity service price hikes effective today: Security deposits increased
New fees for various services in the electricity sector were announced as of January 1. The security deposit for industrial subscribers has been set at 569 Turkish Lira and 4 kuruş, while for residential subscribers, it is 200 Turkish Lira and 3 kuruş. New fees for electricity disconnection-reconnection and meter inspection services have also come into effect.
Various service fees to be applied in the electricity sector starting from January 1 have been determined. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) published its decision on the matter in the 5th repeated issue of the Official Gazette.
In line with this decision, the security deposit, disconnection-reconnection, meter inspection, payment notification, and second notification delivery fees that will be valid from January 1 have been established. EMRA announced the security unit prices that will be valid from January 1, 2025, as follows:
569 Turkish Lira and 4 kuruş per kilowatt for industrial, public, and private sector subscriber groups,
200 Turkish Lira and 3 kuruş for residential subscribers,
100 Turkish Lira for families of martyrs and combat/disabled veterans,
270 Turkish Lira and 2 kuruş for agricultural activities, lighting, and other subscribers
HOW MUCH ARE THE ELECTRICITY DISCONNECTION-RECONNECTION FEES?
Electricity disconnection-reconnection fees were set at 106 Turkish Lira and 8 kuruş for low voltage, and 799 Turkish Lira and 6 kuruş for medium voltage. The inspection fee for directly connected single-phase active or three-phase active and/or reactive meters was determined as 148 Turkish Lira, and the inspection fee for active and/or reactive meters with current transformers and/or voltage transformers was determined as 187 Turkish Lira and 5 kuruş.
Furthermore, the fees for payment notification and second notification delivery services that authorized supply companies receive from distribution companies were also approved. These fees were set at 316 kuruş for payment notification delivery for low voltage, and 3 Turkish Lira and 16 kuruş for medium voltage. The second notification delivery fee was decided as 6 Turkish Lira and 34 kuruş for low voltage, and 63 Turkish Lira and 57 kuruş for medium voltage.
EMRA also determined the network operator application and annual operating fee, the annual operating fee for authorized supply companies, the transaction fee for network operators and authorized supply companies, the project approval and acceptance fees for roof and facade-mounted solar power generation facilities of 50 kilowatts and below, and the additional data request fee for the automatic meter reading system.
The authority also approved the connection fee for low and medium voltage power lines, the project approval and acceptance fee for unlicensed electricity generation facilities based on solar energy, and the technical quality measurement service fee.
