The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the local elections on March 31, 2024, continues its transfers of mayors.

At a ceremony held in Ankara for the 25th anniversary of the AKP's founding, 7 mayors from 3 different parties officially joined the AKP.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the badges on the mayors who joined the party.

The 7 mayors in total who resigned from the CHP, the New Welfare Party, and the DEM Party are as follows:

Ankara Gölbaşı Mayor: Yakup Odabaşı

Ankara Kahramankazan Mayor: Selim Çırpanoğlu

Kütahya Domaniç Mayor: Engin Uysal

Tekirdağ Hayrabolu Mayor: Türker Başoğlu

Çanakkale Eceabat Mayor: Saim Zileli
