Inheritance dispute in Kayseri ends in death
In Kayseri, a police officer killed his mother-in-law over an inheritance dispute and subsequently attempted suicide.
The incident occurred around 13:00 in the Demokrasi neighborhood of the Melikgazi district. 35-year-old police officer S.U. began arguing with his 60-year-old mother-in-law, M.M., due to a disagreement over an inheritance. As the argument quickly escalated into a fight, S.U. shot his mother-in-law using his service weapon. He then attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself with the same weapon.
S.U., who was heavily wounded, was taken to the hospital after receiving initial medical intervention from emergency teams at the scene. Police teams have launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
