Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin answered questions on the education agenda during a live broadcast he attended. 

Tekin also touched upon the debates regarding the 12-year compulsory education period. Stating that they receive complaints on this issue everywhere they go, Minister Tekin said, “A large segment of society expresses that 12 years of education is long and that it should be discussed. My view is the same. Children can now access information much faster and in different ways.”

“WE WILL LOOK AT THE SITUATION”

When asked, “What is your opinion on this matter?”, Minister Tekin replied, “12 years of education is a long process; we are following the discussions on this issue, and we will look at the situation.”
