ZERO TOLERANCE
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that in his sermon, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri used expressions such as, "The residents of Jerusalem are praying to God to have mercy on the martyr. We wish for Him to grant him mercy and paradise." Ben-Gvir said regarding such statements, "My policy against inciters is clear: zero tolerance."
The situation of the detained Sheikh Ekrima Sabri and the measures implemented by Israel have caused tensions in the region to escalate.

It has been reported that Israel has released Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, whom it had detained today for praying during his Friday sermon for Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Iran, by imposing a ban on his entry to Al-Aqsa until August 8.
Sabri's lawyer, Khaled Zabarika, told an AA correspondent that Israel had released Sabri, whom it had detained in occupied East Jerusalem.
Zabarika stated that a ban on Sabri's entry to Al-Aqsa had been imposed until August 8, and that there is a possibility this could be extended for another 6 months.
Israeli police had detained Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Sheikh Sabri today at his home in occupied East Jerusalem for praying during his Friday sermon for Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Iran.
