In the reopened investigation into the death of former MIT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in prison in 2011, security camera footage from the day of his death has drawn attention. The footage shows his cellmate Hasan Atilla Uğur turning off the lights, moments where Kozinoğlu's room was entered, and the washing of a coffee mug said to belong to him, while the nature of a white object in Hasan Ataman Yıldırım's hand is also being examined as part of the investigation.

According to the report by Sabah, the security camera footage shows Uğur going down to the common living area and turning off the lights, with the area remaining in darkness for approximately 14 minutes. According to the records, Kozinoğlu and his other cellmate, Hasan Ataman Yıldırım, were walking in the courtyard during this time.

After the lights were turned back on, the footage shows Uğur entering and exiting the bathroom and kitchen area, and later sitting at the table to eat. Another image that draws attention in the investigation file is the white object in Hasan Ataman Yıldırım's hand.
It was reported that the moments when Yıldırım entered Kozinoğlu's room before he became ill were also captured on camera. There is no definitive identification yet regarding what the white object seen in the footage is.

After Kozinoğlu became ill and was taken to the hospital, security cameras also captured the moments when Uğur entered Kozinoğlu's cell, took a coffee mug said to belong to him, and washed it in the kitchen area.
