Meteorology issues warning: Heavy downpours, northeasterly winds, and storms expected in many regions

According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, partly to very cloudy weather will be effective in the northern parts of the country. While downpours and thunderstorms are expected along the coasts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea and in some eastern provinces, air temperatures in the northern regions are estimated to decrease by 2 to 4 degrees.

Regions where precipitation is expected include the coasts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, as well as the surroundings of Sakarya, Sinop, Tokat, Artvin, Kars, Ardahan, Ağrı, and Iğdır, and the eastern parts of Van. In other regions, the weather is generally expected to be clear and slightly cloudy.

WARNING FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND WIND

Meteorology reported that rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the surroundings of Ordu and Giresun and the eastern parts of Samsun. Residents in these regions have been urged to be cautious against flash floods, water inundation, lightning, disruptions in transportation, and other local negative impacts.

The wind is expected to blow generally from the north, light to occasionally moderate; strong northeasterly winds are expected to be effective in Marmara, the North Aegean coasts, the inland parts of the Mediterranean, and the south and east of Central Anatolia. In these regions, the wind is expected to blow at speeds of 30 to 70 kilometers per hour, occasionally reaching storm force.

Authorities emphasized that precautions should be taken against risks such as roof damage, falling trees and poles, and transportation disruptions in regions where strong winds and storms are expected.
