Minister Yerlikaya announces the amount of drugs seized in 'Narkogüç' operations

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced the latest data on the long-running 'Narkogüç' operations on his social media account. Stating that a 'very large amount' of drugs were seized in 5 cities, Yerlikaya stated the following:

"In the operation carried out by the Edirne Customs Enforcement, Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, 57.5 kg of cocaine with a market value of 58 Million TL was seized! 2 foreign national drug dealer suspects were apprehended! In the operation carried out by our Kocaeli Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crimes Branch, 775 thousand drug pills were seized. One foreign national drug dealer suspect was apprehended. In the operation carried out by our Istanbul Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crimes Branch, 393.5 kg of skunk was seized. 6 drug dealer suspects were apprehended. In the operation carried out by our Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crimes Branch, 257 kg of skunk was seized. 2 drug dealer suspects were apprehended! In the operation carried out by our Erzincan Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crimes Branch, 161 kg of skunk was seized. 5 drug dealer suspects were apprehended! I congratulate our police officers and customs enforcement directorate teams who carried out the operations."
