Much-discussed AKP claim regarding Ahmet Davutoğlu! 'If the President calls...'
Following the Future Party's decision to end its political activities, all eyes have turned to Ahmet Davutoğlu's political future. While claims that he might return to the AKP are being discussed in political circles, journalist Abdulkadir Selvi has also put forward striking claims regarding Davutoğlu.
Ahmet Davutoğlu announced in a statement on his social media account that the Future Party has decided to end its political activities.
In his statement, Davutoğlu said, "At the point we have reached, we see that the political system in general, and party politics in particular, have entered a major impasse. In light of these assessments, as a result of consultations with our party's authorized bodies and our colleagues who have brought the Future Party to this day, we have decided to withdraw from party politics and terminate the Future Party's political activities in order not to be a part of the polluted political climate."
"IF THE PRESIDENT CALLS, HE WILL JOIN"
Following the decision, various claims regarding Davutoğlu's political future have been raised in political circles.
Journalist Abdulkadir Selvi made the following assessment on a live broadcast on CNN Türk regarding the possibility of Davutoğlu returning to the AKP:
"If the President says, 'Come on, let's gather at the father's hearth. Join us on August 14th, on the 25th anniversary of the AK Party's founding,' he will join. But right now, there are those who want Davutoğlu to come to the AK Party, and there are those who are resisting it."
