New act in the extra scandal: Criminal complaint filed against Gürsel Tekin
A new development has occurred in the controversy that began with allegations that paid extras were brought to a CHP membership participation ceremony. Journalist Yavuz Oğhan has filed a criminal complaint against Gürsel Tekin for "publicly disseminating misleading information," "slander," and "public insult" due to his statements regarding Gazete Pencere.
A scandal involving paid extras has left its mark on the membership participation ceremony organized by the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency.
According to a report by Ebru Çelik from Birgün Newspaper, it was alleged that hundreds of extras from various casting agencies were brought to the membership participation ceremony organized by the Kılıçdaroğlu administration in exchange for 950 liras.
Following the outbreak of the scandal, Gürsel Tekin denied the report in question and targeted the journalists who wrote the story and the opposition media.
Journalist Yavuz Oğhan has filed a criminal complaint against Gürsel Tekin, who made various allegations about Gazete Pencere and used the words, "The first invoice is 50 million, the second is 294 million, the third is 240 million liras. Of course, we will face attacks."
A journalist is a person who is a "witness to their era." No politician can be immune to criticism. Politicians targeting journalists based on a report published in Birgün Newspaper is not a situation that can be explained by "democratic maturity."

The criminal complaint petition submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz included the following statements:
"The amounts in the invoices mentioned in the press statement subject to the complaint were intentionally misrepresented, and furthermore, the legal basis for the amounts written on the invoices in question was manipulated to mislead the public, with the aim of making our client a target; the invoices in question consist solely of invoices regarding the fees our client received due to undertaking the role of CHP Communications Consultant before the nullity decision..."
REQUEST FOR PROCEEDINGS ON THREE CHARGES
The petition requested that an investigation be launched against Gürsel Tekin for the crimes of "publicly disseminating misleading information," "slander," and "public insult," that a public lawsuit be filed, and that he be punished.
