New security camera footage has emerged regarding an armed attack on a jewelry store in Esenyurt, Istanbul. The footage shows the argument that took place in the shop before the attack, and the moments when the suspect returned with a weapon and opened fire.
The incident occurred on October 21, 2026, in the Piri Reis neighborhood of Esenyurt district. Allegedly, an argument broke out between 24-year-old Dilşad D. and the jeweler. After leaving the shop for a while, the suspect returned with a weapon and began firing. During the attack, an employee of a pharmacy located next to the jewelry store was shot and wounded.

As part of the investigation, the suspect, who had fled the scene, was apprehended in Çatalca by teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau while in a vehicle he had carjacked.
According to the new footage, the suspect entered the jewelry store and said he wanted to buy a necklace for his girlfriend. It is stated that the suspect, finding the price too high, asked for a discount, and when the jeweler refused, he said, "Take a loss. I'll kill a man for you."
At that moment, another customer who wanted to sell a necklace arrived at the shop, and it was learned that while the customer was preparing to leave after not liking the price offered by the jeweler, Dilşad D. intervened and escalated the argument. The jeweler then escorted the customer and the suspect out of the shop.

The recordings also captured the suspect returning to the jewelry store with a weapon and opening fire, as well as the jewelry store employees responding. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
