A new development has emerged regarding the family of Ebru Eroğlu, one of the lieutenants who was dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces after chanting the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" while crossing swords following the Military Academy graduation ceremony on August 30, 2024.
It has been learned that Cemil Eroğlu, the veteran father of the top-ranking graduate Ebru Eroğlu, was fired from his job at the Turkish Touring and Automobile Association, where he had been employed for 35 years. It was stated that a "downsizing" decision within the institution was cited as the reason for the dismissal.
While the claim that only Cemil Eroğlu was fired as part of the downsizing decision has raised questions, the timing of the decision also drew attention.
TIMING DRAWS CRITICISM
The fact that the dismissal decision came immediately after Ebru Eroğlu answered questions from journalist Barış Terkoğlu on the Onlar TV YouTube channel has sparked public debate.
In the program, Eroğlu stated, "I have no regrets," and noted that her family supported them, adding, "Our families have always been by our side. They were proud of us."

It was reported that Cemil Eroğlu has received numerous messages of support following his dismissal, and that some institutions and organizations have taken steps to hire him.
Meanwhile, it has been learned that Ebru Eroğlu, who is awaiting the completion of legal processes, has started working within Güriş Holding, which belongs to businessman Tevfik Yamantürk. It had previously been stated that other lieutenants dismissed from the TSK, Batuhan Gazi Kılıç, İzzet Talip Akarsu, and Serhat Gündar, were included in the municipal staff by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
