Operations against organized crime groups in 6 provinces: 74 suspects in custody
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 74 suspects have been apprehended as part of operations conducted in 6 provinces targeting 8 separate organized crime groups.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that operations were carried out in 6 provinces against 8 organized crime groups led by Ş.K. in Istanbul, F.Ö. in Balıkesir, Y.K. (currently in prison) in Antalya, E.Y. in Tekirdağ, N.G. and E.K. in Kırklareli, and F.Y.K. and A.A. in Bursa.
Sharing the news on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that out of the 74 suspects apprehended during the operations, 43 have been arrested, and judicial control measures have been imposed on 20 suspects.
Stating that the processing of the other suspects is ongoing, Yerlikaya noted the following:
"During the operations, 20 unlicensed pistols, 5 unlicensed rifles, 2 blank-firing pistols, a large number of cutting and piercing tools, as well as checks and promissory notes were seized. We continue our operations without interruption at every stage of our fight against organized crime groups to ensure that no crime or criminal goes unpunished, and to ensure that criminals are caught and delivered to justice. I congratulate our public prosecutor's offices that coordinated the operations and our heroic police officers who carried them out."
