SCHOOLS CLOSED IN ISTANBUL

Due to the adverse weather conditions affecting Istanbul, education was suspended for one day on Monday, November 20, in primary and secondary schools in the Şile district.

With this decision, personnel working in public institutions in Şile who are pregnant, disabled, or have chronic illnesses will also be considered on administrative leave on November 20.

EDUCATION SUSPENDED IN ZONGULDAK TOO

A severe storm in the Western Black Sea region has negatively affected life in Zonguldak. Due to the storm that has taken the city under its influence, education in the city has been suspended for 1 day.

In a written statement from the Governor's Office, it was reported that all official/private, formal, and non-formal education institutions were closed on Monday, November 20, 2023.

The statement also expressed that disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations will be considered on administrative leave on November 20, 2023.

STATEMENT FROM THE BOLU GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

Education has been suspended for 1 day in Bolu due to adverse weather conditions.

In a statement made on the Governor's Office's social media account, it was reported that due to adverse weather conditions across the province, education has been suspended for 1 day on November 20 in all official-private formal and non-formal education institutions.

The statement also noted that disabled and pregnant personnel working in public institutions and organizations will be considered on administrative leave for 1 day on the same date.

EDUCATION SUSPENDED IN DÜZCE'S AKÇAKOCA

Heavy rain and storms throughout the day negatively affected life across the Akçakoca district of Düzce. In the district where adverse weather conditions continue, many houses and workplaces were flooded, roofs were blown off, and trees were uprooted.

In the statement made by the District Governorate, the phrase "Due to the adverse weather conditions effective across our district, education has been suspended for 1 day on Monday, November 20, 2023" was used.

SCHOOLS ALSO CLOSED IN YIĞLICA DISTRICT

Schools in the Yığılca district were closed on Monday, November 20, due to adverse weather conditions. In the statement made by the Yığılca District Governorate, it was said, “Due to the continuation of snowfall and adverse weather conditions across our district, and the potential transportation problems caused by icing on highways, in order to ensure the safety of our students and personnel, it has been decided to suspend education for one (1) day on Monday, November 20, 2023, in all types and levels of official-private formal and non-formal education institutions, special education and rehabilitation centers, special education courses, and nurseries and preschool education institutions belonging to other public institutions and organizations affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Furthermore, among the employees of public institutions and organizations; pregnant, disabled, dialysis patients, and civil servants and other public officials with chronic severe illnesses such as heart and kidney failure, cancer, etc., will be considered on administrative leave for 1 (one) day on Monday, November 20.”

SNOW OBSTACLE TO BUSSING EDUCATION IN SAKARYA

In the Hendek district of Sakarya, bussing education has been suspended for 1 day due to adverse weather conditions.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was announced that due to adverse weather conditions and snowfall in the high-altitude neighborhoods of the district, bussing education in the neighborhoods of Dikmen, Aksu, Kurtuluş Karadere, Sümbüllü Kırktepe, Bakacak, Pazarcık, Eskibıçkı, Dede Düzü, Bıçkatik, Hicriye, Muradiye, Akçayır, Esentepe, and Harmantepe has been suspended for 1 day by the Hendek District Governorate.

It was reported that education was suspended on Monday, November 20, in the Sinop city center and some districts due to unfavorable weather conditions.

In the written statement made by the Sinop Governor's Office, the following was recorded:

"Due to the storm and adverse weather conditions experienced in the coastal areas, education has been suspended for 1 day on Monday, November 20, 2023, in all official and private schools, special education institutions, public education courses, and private teaching courses in the city center and the districts of Ayancık, Türkeli, Gerze, and Erfelek and their villages."

Additionally, it was stated that pregnant and disabled employees working in public institutions and organizations will be considered on administrative leave for 1 day.

Education at Sinop University has been suspended for one day due to adverse weather conditions.

In a written statement from the Rectorate, it was reported that education at all units of the university was suspended on Monday, November 20, due to the storm and adverse weather conditions effective in the city center and districts.

The statement also indicated that pregnant and disabled university staff will be considered on administrative leave.

BUSSING EDUCATION SUSPENDED IN KARABÜK

Bussing education has been suspended for one day in the Eflani and Eskipazar districts of Karabük due to snowfall.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was reported that bussing education and training in the Eflani and Eskipazar districts were suspended for one day on Monday, November 20, due to snowfall and adverse weather conditions.

1-DAY SUSPENSION OF EDUCATION IN BATMAN

It was reported that education was suspended on Monday, November 20, in Batman due to excessive rainfall.
