Tarkan reacts to the arrest of İmamoğlu

Famous artist Tarkan has joined the chorus of reactions against the arrest and imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his close associates.

In a post on his social media account, Tarkan emphasized democracy and the rule of law, stating, "I have always raised my voice for our most fundamental rights and freedoms."

Drawing attention to the importance of an independent and fair legal system, Tarkan said, "It is promising that the public is embracing democracy more firmly as a result of all kinds of injustices and practices that have not been in accordance with legal procedures for a long time."

Tarkan included the following words in his post:

"It makes me proud and emotional to see our people stand as one heart against injustices with a political awareness and awakening. It is wonderful to see that we can unite without losing our faith in the absolute independence of the law for a fairer and freer future. I hope this struggle will give new sprouts to our weary hope and that more peaceful days await our country."
