Venezuelan President Maduro deletes WhatsApp from his phone screen on live TV: Invites the public to delete the app

During a special television broadcast he attended in the capital, Caracas, Maduro showed his phone screen to the cameras and officially uninstalled the WhatsApp application.

Maduro stated that soldiers, police officers, and community leaders were being threatened via WhatsApp, and for this reason, he asked the public to delete WhatsApp voluntarily and gradually.

Appealing to the public, Maduro said, "I have gotten rid of WhatsApp. Venezuelan families, youth, patriotic men and women, do you want peace? Delete WhatsApp, because it has given the list of all of Venezuela to Colombian drug traffickers and imperialism. No to WhatsApp. I recommend Telegram and WeChat."
