A.U.Ş., who was determined to have shared emblems and insignia belonging to the Police Department and displayed weapons on social media platforms using names such as "police news" and "press police," has been taken into custody in İzmir.
Teams from the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Security Branch and the Cybercrime Branch launched an investigation into the suspect following the social media posts.
As part of the investigation, an operation was carried out yesterday at A.U.Ş.'s home and workplace. During the searches conducted at the addresses, 1 handgun, 1 empty magazine for the handgun, 58 cartridges, 4 cartridges with steel balls at the tip, and 1 handheld radio were seized.
During the searches, 8 badges and identification cards with the word "Police" on them were also found. It was reported that the processing of the detained suspect at the police station is ongoing.
