Woman dies after her skirt catches fire while lighting a stove!
In the Hafik district of Sivas, a 68-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease lost her life after her skirt caught fire while she was trying to light a stove in her home.
The tragic incident occurred in Yeniköy village in the Hafik district. According to reports, Meryem Işgın's skirt caught fire while she was attempting to light a stove.
Villagers who rushed to the house upon hearing the screams of the elderly woman, who was known to have Alzheimer's, tried to save her by pouring water, but were unsuccessful.
The woman was determined to have passed away during checks by emergency teams who arrived at the scene following a report. Her body was taken to the morgue of Sivas Cumhuriyet University (SCÜ) Health Services Application and Research Hospital for autopsy procedures.
Authorities are focusing on the possibility that the elderly woman caught fire as a result of her skirt igniting while she was trying to light the stove in her bedroom.
