An important development has occurred concerning citizens who trade gold, as an additional tax has been introduced on non-physical gold purchased from banks. This decision, which had been implemented previously, was revoked 3.5 years ago. So, how much tax will be applied to gold purchased from banks?

HAS AN ADDITIONAL TAX BEEN IMPOSED ON GOLD?

According to the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, as of March 17, 2025, non-physical gold sales transactions conducted through demand deposit accounts without physical delivery will be considered foreign exchange transactions. A foreign exchange transaction tax (KMV) of 0.2 percent (0.002) will be levied on these transactions.
