A change has been made to the position of General Manager at Borsa İstanbul A.Ş. Following the detention of Borsa İstanbul A.Ş. General Manager Korkmaz Enes Ergun as part of a fund investigation, Atila Türeli has been appointed as the acting General Manager.
It was stated that Ergun was detained yesterday as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was reported that Ergun is facing accusations of "being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes" and "bribery."
Following these developments, it was announced that Atila Türeli will serve as the acting General Manager of Borsa İstanbul. Türeli is known as a figure who has worked within the institution for many years in the fields of law, compliance, and management.
WHO IS ATİLA TÜRELİ?
Born in 1970 in Ereğli, Konya, Atila Türeli completed his primary education at Ereğli Cumhuriyet Primary School and his secondary and high school education at Konya Anatolian High School. Graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1993, Türeli completed his master's degree program in European Union Public Law and Integration at Bahçeşehir University Institute of Social Sciences in 2008.
Receiving his law license in 1994, Türeli served as a judge in the judicial judiciary until 2000. In the same year, he passed the exam held by the Istanbul Stock Exchange and began working as a lawyer in the Legal Consultancy department.
Having served in various positions within the Legal Consultancy department between 2000 and 2012, Türeli worked as the Member Affairs Department Manager from 2012 to 2014, Compliance Department Manager from 2014 to 2016, and Chief Legal Counsel from 2016 to 2023. Türeli also holds positions as a member of the TÜRİB Board of Directors and a member of the Istanbul Arbitration Center General Assembly.
