First calculation for the January 2027 pension increase: The lowest monthly pension scenario

The first calculations for the increase to be applied to pensions in January 2027 have begun to take shape with inflation data from the second half of the year. The level to which the lowest pension, which has been 23 thousand 552 TL as of July 2026, will rise in the new year is being closely monitored, especially by SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), inflation was 1.78 percent in July, 1.84 percent in August, and 1.84 percent in September. Thus, the three-month cumulative inflation for the July-September period reached approximately 5.57 percent.

However, this rate does not mean the final increase that will be applied in January. The salary increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be determined based on the six-month inflation covering the entire July-December period. Therefore, the final rate will not be clear until the data for October, November, and December are released.

According to sample calculations based on the current lowest pension of 23 thousand 552 TL, different year-end inflation forecasts point to possible amounts for January ranging between 25 thousand 601 TL and 26 thousand 79 TL.
