The identity of the person stated to be the biological father of 18-year-old Hamid Yorulmaz, who came to the fore with his story on the Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert program, has been clarified with a DNA test. In the paternity test for Hamid, who needs a bone marrow transplant due to thalassemia major, it was announced that the probability of paternity of the person pointed out by his mother Nihal Beyit and known as "Bearded Hamid" is 99.9 percent.
HE HAD STARTED SEARCHING FOR HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER FOR A BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT
Hamid Yorulmaz, who is battling a severe form of thalassemia major, also known as Mediterranean anemia, was trying to find his biological father for the bone marrow transplant he needed as part of his treatment. Upon learning that Mehmet Sağbaş, who raised him, was not his biological father, the young man asked his mother Nihal Beyit for help to find out who his real father was.
However, when Beyit did not make a statement regarding the identity of the biological father, the issue was brought to the television program. With the developments reported in the broadcasts accepted as a criminal complaint, an investigation was launched by the Torbalı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
THE NAME POINTED OUT IN HIS MOTHER'S STATEMENT JOINED THE PROGRAM
Testifying as part of the investigation, Nihal Beyit pointed to a person known in his circle as "Bearded Hamid", whom she stated lived outside of İzmir and was her sister's neighbor.
The person in question, who is married and a father of three daughters, also joined the program and explained that he and Beyit had a brief relationship in the past. Stating that their meetings took place in environments with alcohol, the person said he was not given any information about the pregnancy.
Expressing that he did not think he could be the father, the person also stated that he was ready to donate bone marrow to Hamid if the DNA test came back positive. He explained this stance with the words, "It is our human duty."
DNA TEST RESULT ANNOUNCED AS 99.9 PERCENT
The result of the DNA test conducted to determine Hamid's biological father was announced on the Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert program. According to the shared information, the probability of the person pointed out by Nihal Beyit being Hamid's biological father was reported as 99.9 percent.
Although the person connected to the program by phone and joined the broadcast to evaluate the result, he did not appear on camera.
HIS MOTHER NIHAL BEYIT WAS ARRESTED
The events experienced during the process of finding Hamid's biological father also brought along a judicial investigation. Following the acceptance of the broadcasts as a criminal complaint, Hamid's mother Nihal Beyit and his uncle Mehmet Yorulmaz were detained.
The court arrested Nihal Beyit on charges of "altering a child's lineage" and sent her to prison. Mehmet Yorulmaz, on the other hand, was released under judicial control and a travel ban.
