Giant support for rural development investments: 18 thousand jobs target

Minister of Agriculture Yumaklı emphasized the importance of rural development investments and stated that they are determined to support projects in this field. Within the framework of the Rural Development Investments Support Program, he stated that in addition to investments in areas such as the processing, packaging, and storage of agricultural products, fixed investments for agricultural production will also be supported. He reminded that for these projects, grants of up to 50 percent will be provided for investments of up to 20 million liras.

Yumaklı also stated that for modern and individual irrigation systems, investments of up to 10 million liras will be supported with a 50 percent grant.

ECONOMIC AND INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS

Stating that the projects are grouped under two main headings as "economic investments" and "infrastructure investments," Yumaklı said that these supports will create new business areas and employment opportunities in rural regions.

He stated that approximately 9 billion liras in grants will be provided to 4 thousand 46 projects accepted for the processing and storage of agricultural products, and that these projects will offer an investment opportunity of 18 billion liras and create employment for 12 thousand people.

Expressing that 3 thousand 114 projects have been accepted within the scope of individual irrigation systems and that 1.2 billion liras of support will be provided to these projects, Yumaklı emphasized that modern irrigation systems will be established on an area of 83 thousand decares, thereby ensuring increased efficiency and water savings. He added that these investments are worth approximately 2.5 billion liras and will offer employment opportunities for 6 thousand people.
