Lowest pension calculated
As 2026 approaches, the rates for pension increases have begun to become clear in line with inflation data.
The 6-month inflation data announced every year in January and July determines pension increases. In the January-September period of 2025, inflation was recorded at 25.43%. As of September, the 3-month inflation rate was announced as 7.5%. With the announcement of data for October, November, and December, the rate of increase to be applied in January 2026 will also be finalized.
CENTRAL BANK FORECASTS
According to the Central Bank's October Market Participants Survey, inflation forecasts for the last quarter of the year are as follows: 2.34% in October, 1.55% in November, and 1.14% in December. In line with these forecasts, year-end inflation is expected to reach 31.77%. If these rates are confirmed, an increase of approximately 12.94% is projected for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
As of 2025, the lowest pension is at the level of 16,881 TL. With the application of the expected increase rate, the base pension is expected to rise to 19,065 TL in January 2026.
FINALIZATION OF THE INCREASE RATE
The 2026 pension increase will be finalized with the announcement of December inflation data. Experts state that if year-end figures align with expectations, double-digit increases in pensions are inevitable.
