Price hikes for gasoline, diesel, and LPG
The rise of Brent crude oil to the 97-dollar level has brought expectations of new hikes in fuel prices. Increases are also anticipated for LPG prices, in addition to diesel and gasoline.
The rise in oil prices and volatility in exchange rates continue to be reflected in fuel prices. Following the rise of Brent crude oil to the 97-dollar level, expectations for new hikes in diesel, gasoline, and LPG prices have emerged.
While a 3 lira 60 kuruş SCT (Special Consumption Tax) increase was applied to diesel yesterday, according to information received from industry sources, a new rise is also expected in gasoline and diesel prices.
DIESEL HIKE ON FRIDAY, GASOLINE HIKE ON SATURDAY
Journalist Olcay Aydilek stated in a post on his social media account that hikes for diesel and gasoline could come over the weekend.
Industry sources also drew attention to the upward movement in prices, stating, "A hike for diesel effective from Friday and for gasoline effective from Saturday may be on the agenda."
It was noted that Brent crude oil prices and diesel and gasoline prices in global markets have risen following the US attacks on Iran.
LPG HIKE ALSO EXPECTED
There is also an expectation of an increase in LPG (autogas) prices. According to industry sources, a hike of between 1 lira 7 kuruş and 1 lira 11 kuruş per liter of LPG is anticipated.
If the hike is implemented, the average price of a liter of LPG in Istanbul is expected to rise to 34.58 liras. The increase is expected to be reflected in pump prices starting from midnight connecting September 2 to September 3.
