Iran: Our conditions for ending the war have been conveyed to mediators

Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, made statements regarding the ongoing military and political tension with the US. In an interview with the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television, Rezaei evaluated Tehran's conditions for potential negotiations with Washington, its strategy toward the US, and Iran's state of readiness for a potential decisive war.

Rezaei stated that contacts with Qatari and Pakistani mediators are ongoing and that the conditions for ending the war have been conveyed to those countries. Stating that it would be in the interest of the Washington administration to accept the conditions Iran has put forward to exit the war, Rezaei expressed that US President Donald Trump's threats would not yield results, adding that Iran is prepared for a "decisive war."

Rezaei announced that the conditions Iran has put forward for ending the war are "ending the war on all fronts," the release of frozen Iranian assets, and the lifting of the blockade on Iranian ports.

Rezaei also stated that Iran wants the conflicts between Saudi Arabia and the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen to end. Expressing his belief that the Houthis also want to reach an agreement with Saudi Arabia, Rezaei noted that contacts aimed at ending the conflicts in the region are continuing.

"Iran is more prepared than ever to respond to airstrikes"

Stating that Iran needed to change its strategy toward Washington following the US withdrawal from the memorandum of understanding signed between the parties in June, Rezaei argued that Trump's assessments and calculations regarding Iran were flawed. Rezaei also stated that the war was initiated under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Reminding that Iran recently conducted an anti-ship missile launch test against a US aircraft carrier, Rezaei said, "Iran knows the weaknesses of the US military and is more prepared than ever to respond to airstrikes."

Rezaei stated that Iran is extremely serious about defense, adding, "If Iran is attacked, it will target US bases and Washington's interests in the region with much greater force."
