Upper limits increased to 14 million liras for new facility applications

The "Communiqué on Supporting Agriculture-Based Investments within the Scope of Rural Development Supports" by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

With the communiqué, the upper limit for the grant-based project amount in agriculture-based economic investment areas has been increased from 7 million liras to 14 million liras for applications involving new facilities, from 5 million liras to 12 million liras for applications involving the completion of partially constructed investments, and from 4 million liras to 10 million liras for applications involving capacity expansion and technology renewal and/or modernization.

For rural economic infrastructure investment areas, the upper limit for the grant-based project amount has been raised from 1 million liras to 3 million liras. The scopes of agriculture-based economic investments and rural economic infrastructure investments have been simplified and consolidated under a single umbrella.

Priority for women and youth

The communiqué includes a regulation providing additional points to women and young investors, agricultural organizations, investors residing in rural areas, and disease-free enterprises, allowing them to benefit from grant support on a priority basis.

Projects located in agriculture-based specialized organized industrial zones have also been granted priority within this scope. Family business investments will also remain within the scope of support in the new application period.

With the regulation, the minimum score threshold required for project acceptance has been removed, enabling projects deemed eligible to benefit from grant support in proportion to the budget.

While the Rural Development Investment Support Program has been redesigned in accordance with agricultural production planning, arrangements have also been made for provinces that were damaged by the earthquakes on February 6 and declared disaster zones.

The final completion date for projects from the 2021-2022 application period under the Rural Development Investment Support Program has also been extended from November 30, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
