Vice President Yılmaz makes statement on 'additional increase for retirees'

In a statement on his social media account, Yılmaz wished that the additional increases to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which were announced by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the Cabinet Meeting, would be beneficial for retirees.

Stating that the rates are only for the first 6 months and that even the 6-month increase rates are above the expected annual inflation, Yılmaz noted that with the legal increases to be made in July, the annual increase rates will have been equalized and reached much higher levels for all retiree segments.

Vice President Yılmaz stated the following:

"In a period where we are healing the wounds of the greatest disaster in our history, implementing the EYT policy, facing geopolitical risks, and conducting a determined fight against inflation, we stand by our retirees with all our resources.

As our country grows in stability, more and permanent welfare increases will be provided to our retirees, just as they are to every segment of society.

For all SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the increase rate for the first six months will be 42.6 percent, including an additional 5 points. Despite this rate, the pensions of our retirees whose monthly income remains below 10 thousand TL will be increased to 10 thousand TL through a legal regulation. Thus, there will be no retiree who does not receive an increase due to low base salary.

As required by legal regulations, while members of the Emekli Sandığı (Retirement Fund) will receive an inflation difference in July, our SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will have received an increase equal to the entire realized inflation."
