Which investment instruments gained and which lost this week? How did gold, the stock market, and foreign currency perform?
While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul lost an average of 5.46 percent in value on a weekly basis, the gram selling price of gold gained 2.21 percent, the euro/TL rate gained 1.62 percent, and the dollar/TL rate gained 0.59 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 7,553.85 and a high of 8,010.47 points, finished the week at 7,557.56 points, losing 5.46 percent in value compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar rose by 2.21 percent this week to 1,942 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold rose by 2.20 percent to 13,051 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 3,126 liras last weekend, rose to 3,194 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.59 percent in value to reach 29.2160 liras, while the euro rose by 1.62 percent to 32.2250 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.45 percent and individual pension funds gained 0.71 percent this week. When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Precious Metals" funds with a gain of 2.41 percent.
