Temperatures dropping in Istanbul, rainy and cool weather is coming! Thunderstorm warning issued

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that rain and thunderstorms are expected across a large part of Turkey. While rainy weather will affect Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, a heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the eastern part of the Marmara region and some inland areas.

Cool and rainy weather arriving from the Balkans has begun to show its effect across a significant portion of Turkey. While rain is expected in the Marmara, Aegean, Black Sea, and northwestern Central Anatolia regions, heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for some areas.

According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the northern, inner, and western parts of the country will be partly to very cloudy. Local rain and thunderstorms will be seen in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Taurus Mountains, northwestern Central Anatolia, and most of the Black Sea region.

The rainfall is expected to be locally heavy, particularly in the eastern Marmara, northeastern Aegean, western parts of the Western Black Sea, northern parts of Central Anatolia, and the surroundings of Kastamonu.

TEMPERATURES IN ISTANBUL TO DROP TO 23 DEGREES

In Istanbul, where summer-like days were experienced over the weekend, air temperatures will drop significantly. While intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day in the city, the temperature will reach a maximum of 23 degrees.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the eastern part of the Marmara Region. Temperatures are expected to be 22 degrees in Bursa, 21 in Sakarya, and 24 in Edirne.

RAIN IN ANKARA, PRECIPITATION PASSES IN IZMIR

In the capital Ankara, very cloudy weather and intermittent rain will be effective starting from the morning hours on Wednesday. The temperature in the city is projected to range between 15 and 27 degrees.

In Izmir, partly to very cloudy weather will prevail throughout the day. While intermittent rain and thunderstorms are expected in the city, the temperature will reach a maximum of 28 degrees.

Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the northeastern part of the Aegean Region. Rain showers will also be seen in the surroundings of Denizli, Muğla, and Uşak.

RAINFALL TO INCREASE IN THE BLACK SEA

Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the entire Western Black Sea region. While rainfall is expected to be heavy in the surroundings of Düzce and Kastamonu, rainy weather will also be effective in the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, excluding Tokat.

Citizens have been urged to be cautious against heavy rainfall that may occur in the surroundings of Çorum.

HOT WEATHER TO CONTINUE IN THE SOUTH AND EAST

Most of the Mediterranean Region will experience partly and slightly cloudy weather. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Western Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains after the afternoon hours.

While the temperature will rise to 30 degrees in Antalya, it will be measured at 33 degrees in Adana and 32 degrees in Hatay.

No rainfall is expected in most of Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia. While temperatures will rise to 35 degrees in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa, it will be 32 degrees in Malatya and 33 degrees in Gaziantep.

TEMPERATURES IN THE WEST ARE ABOVE SEASONAL NORMALS

According to the Meteorology's assessment, no significant change is expected in air temperatures. Temperatures are projected to remain above seasonal normals in the western parts and around seasonal normals in other regions.

The wind is expected to blow from the north in the northwestern parts and from the south in the southern and eastern regions, at light to occasionally moderate strength.
