According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, intermittent downpours and thunderstorms are expected across the country. Rainfall is expected to be heavy in the Marmara region (excluding Bilecik), the western Aegean, the surroundings of Adana and Düzce, the south of Isparta and Burdur, and the west of Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye; and very heavy to severe in the surroundings of Antalya and Muğla. Winds are expected to blow from the north along the coasts of Marmara and the North Aegean, and from the south along the West Mediterranean coast and the south and east of Central Anatolia, as strong winds and short-term storms (40-80 km/h).
Air temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the inner and western parts, increase by 1 to 3 degrees in the eastern parts, and remain largely unchanged elsewhere.
Winds are generally expected to be light to occasionally moderate from the south, and from the north in Marmara and the North Aegean, with strong and short-term storms (40-80 km/h) expected along the coasts of Marmara and the North Aegean, the West Mediterranean coast, and the south and east of Central Anatolia.
YELLOW AND ORANGE CODE WARNING FOR 18 PROVINCES
According to the map published by the General Directorate of Meteorology, a yellow code meteorological warning was issued for 15 provinces and an orange code warning for 3 provinces. The provinces under a yellow code warning are Antalya, Aydın, Balıkesir, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Isparta, Istanbul, Izmir, Kırklareli, Manisa, Muğla, and Tekirdağ. An orange code warning was issued for Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Yalova.
