The allegation that gendarmerie teams conducted a search and inspection at Beyaz TV's headquarters in Ankara last week has sparked debate. In a report by Odatv, it was claimed that the channel's past financial records were also brought into question.
The report stated that there is no publicly disclosed information regarding the scope of the investigation under which the search was conducted or which records were examined. Among the allegations was that a staff member who had worked as an accounting officer at the channel for a long time and left the job about two months ago was called back to the institution.
Odatv also brought up some allegations regarding the income level and expenditures of Beyaz TV Broadcast Coordinator Yeliz Tercanlı. However, no details were shared regarding the basis of these allegations or the scope of the potential investigation.
AKP Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek, in a statement he made following the report, denied the allegation that a search was conducted at Beyaz TV's Ankara headquarters. Gökçek accused Odatv of conducting a smear campaign against him and Beyaz TV.
