Allegations that trash and debris were being dumped on the Black Sea coast in Giresun's Aksu neighborhood have returned to the agenda following footage recorded by Zafer Party Giresun Provincial Chair Mesut Aydın. The footage shows piles of waste accumulating along the coastline, dump trucks unloading debris, and landfill areas near the sea.
Zafer Party Environment, Urbanization, and Culture Chair Esmaül Hüsna Aslan reacted to the Giresun Municipality and Mayor Fuat Köse over the images she shared on her social media account. Aslan stated, "Right across from Giresun Island, in the Aksu neighborhood, tons of trash and debris are being dumped on the Black Sea coast. Our sea, our nature, and our public health are under threat."

In the approximately one-minute video, it was noted that a truck with the inscription "Giresun Municipality" was also visible. Aslan demanded an explanation regarding what permits were obtained for the dumping activities and asked, "Is this the municipal management you deem worthy of the people of Giresun?"
Aslan stated that plastic waste could turn into microplastics over time, threatening marine life and the food chain. Demanding an investigation into allegations that vehicles with General Directorate of Highways and FİSKOBİRLİK logos were also dumping in the area, Aslan argued that the mud and silt carried onto the road by heavy-tonnage vehicles pose a risk to traffic safety.
Calling on the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and the Giresun Governor's Office to take action, Aslan requested that the dumping activities be inspected, that any unauthorized activities be stopped, and that the area be sealed off if deemed necessary. Aslan said, "Giresun is not ownerless, and the Black Sea is not abandoned. We will follow this environmental scandal to the end."
