US President Donald Trump announced in a statement to the national press that the $4 billion in annual aid provided to Israel will be suspended until the end of the year.
Stating that they will no longer provide money to Israel, Trump said, "It has been agreed that aid to Israel will be suspended until the end of the year. If needed, the US will assist Israel."
Noting that the decision was brought up during discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said, "We had an agreement with Netanyahu to provide $4 billion annually to Israel, but we decided to stop this aid months ago. They are also satisfied with this situation."
Trump was also asked about his stance on Iran following the midterm elections. The US President responded to this question by saying, "My goal is not to kill a large number of people, but if we are forced to, we will have to do it. We are very strong right now."
